Matthew Mork
Matthew Mork, 33, died on June 20, 2022, while held at Donaldson Correctional Facility in Bessemer, Alabama. According to reports the Equal Justice Initiative received, he had been physically and sexually assaulted repeatedly in the months before his death. After a cardiac event, he was placed in a medically induced coma. His family says they were not allowed to visit him in the hospital and were not told what happened to him, and they pressed the prison and the Alabama Department of Corrections for information about his death.
