Matthew Jones
Matthew Jones, 30, died on Aug. 16, 2023, in a cell at the Comanche County Detention Center in Lawton, Oklahoma, according to a probable cause affidavit reported by The Lawton Constitution. The affidavit says he was beaten and suffered several hemorrhages and hematomas. Three men held in the same jail were charged with first-degree manslaughter in connection with his death. The affidavit also names two other men who it says helped subdue him; they had not been charged as of the report.
