Matthew Green
Matthew Green, 58, was held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Columbia, South Carolina, and died on August 24, 2011, at the Dorn VA Hospital. The Richland County Sheriff's Department said an officer put him in a headlock during a restraint, and that he was later found unresponsive. Richland County Coroner Gary Watts attributed his death to blunt force trauma to the neck. Surveillance video shows an officer dragging him out of camera view, and the employee was placed on unpaid leave while the solicitor reviews the incident.
