Matthew Caylor
Matthew Caylor, a man who had been held in a Florida state prison for nearly 16 years, died in August 2025 while held at Union Correctional Institution. The Florida Department of Corrections recorded the manner of death as suicide, and State Attorney Larry Basford also said he died by suicide. Reports give August 19 in one account and August 20 in another.
