Massimo Barbagallo
Massimo Barbagallo, 49, died in January 2023 at the North County Correctional Facility in Los Angeles County, where he was held. According to an inspector general's report, he climbed onto a second-story railing and jumped, and no staff member was watching at the time. The report says officers found him unresponsive in a hallway and did not attempt emergency aid because his injuries were too severe.
