Martin Sanchez
Martin Sanchez, 41, was held at Bayside State Prison in Leesburg, New Jersey, and was due to be released the next day. On November 21, 2022, correctional officers found him unresponsive in his cell with head and facial injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the prison. The Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office said his cause of death was blunt force head injuries and neck compression, and the medical examiner ruled the death a homicide. In July 2025, a fellow prisoner was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison for the killing, according to prosecutors and news reports.
