Martin Pacheco
Martin Pacheco, 34, died on November 25, 2020, while held at California State Prison-Sacramento in Folsom. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said a correctional officer fired on him during an attack on another incarcerated man, and that he was struck by a gunshot wound to the back and pronounced dead at 9:32 a.m. The department said the attackers had ignored repeated orders to stop before officers used chemical agents and fired. Its Deadly Force Investigation Team and a review board are examining the shooting, and the Office of the Inspector General was notified.
