Martel Dorsey
Martel Dorsey, 32, was a father, son, brother and uncle, according to his mother, who said he was expected home before Christmas. He died in November 2023 at Calhoun State Prison in Georgia after being stabbed by other people held there. His family and the Human and Civil Rights Coalition of Georgia say staff did not act quickly enough to help him and have asked for video and reports on the response. The Georgia Department of Corrections says staff gave aid and called EMS, and its investigation is ongoing.
