Marshall Metz

Marshall Metz died in a Maryland state prison, according to a WJLA report published in October 2016. In May 2016, his stepson received an automated notice from the state corrections department saying Metz had been released, and the family was frightened by it. They later learned the notice was wrong and that he had died while in prison. The state said it would change its victim notification practice so that families are told when someone in custody dies.
