Marquiel Ross
Marquiel Ross was from Tulsa, and his family has described being heartbroken by his death. He died on September 12, 2024, while held at Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester. The Oklahoma Department of Corrections said he was killed by his cellmate and lists the manner of death as homicide. A family lawsuit, which State Rep. J.J. Humphrey has joined, says the department misstated the date of death and never notified Ross's family, and the department calls those claims false.
