Marilyn Kay Plantz was executed by lethal injection at McAlester, Oklahoma, on May 1, 2001, according to the Death Penalty Information Center's 2001 list. She was the second woman executed in Oklahoma since statehood in 1907, after Wanda Jean Allen in January 2001. The Washington Post reported that questions had been raised about evidence presented by a police chemist in her case.
