Maressa Mays
Maressa Mays, 34, was held at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after a judge sent her there in mid-July 2025. Her mother said she had a heart of gold, loved everybody, and was trying to be a good mom to her daughter. Her family says she complained of chest pain for at least a day without receiving medical care, and that she was beaten. The sheriff's office said the cause and manner of death are pending toxicology results.
