Marcus Robert Sanders died on April 2, 2025, while held at the Columbus County Detention Center in North Carolina. According to the Columbus County Sheriff's Office, he was found unresponsive in his cell during a welfare check and was taken to Columbus Regional Healthcare System, where he was pronounced dead.
