Marcus Lamarr Nelson Sr.
Marcus Lamarr Nelson Sr., 45, was a sergeant in the Army who had joined in 2005 as a petroleum supply specialist and deployed to Iraq twice. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, he had been assigned to Fort Hood's 1st Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment since June 2015. He was found dead in his cell at the Bell County Jail in Belton, Texas, on Monday, May 23, 2016. Bell County deputies and investigators from the Texas Attorney General's office are investigating, and an autopsy was ordered. The cause and manner of his death have not yet been determined.
