Marcus Heard
Marcus Heard, 30, died on April 19, 2022, at the Lyon County Detention Center in Kansas, where he was being held. His family describes him as a loving son, cousin and brother and the father of six infant children, and his mother, Lenetia, said the family is seeking a thorough investigation. Detention officers found him unresponsive in his cell during a check that night, and an ambulance was called, but paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. The Lyon County sheriff's office said the death may have been self-harm, which the family disputes, saying he was not suicidal. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating, and an autopsy was pending.
