Marciano Briones
Marciano Briones, 84, died on December 28, 2016, while held at the Adams County Sheriff's Detention Facility in Brighton, Colorado. His son Marc said he was a fighter, and his daughter Maria said the family felt his care had not been taken seriously. Cellmates said he stopped eating and drinking and had severe abdominal pain in the days before Christmas, and that his repeated requests for medical help over December 25 to 27 got little response. The Adams County coroner's preliminary finding is a gall bladder infection, with a full autopsy pending, and the sheriff's office has an internal investigation under way and declined to discuss the case.
