Marcel Williams, 46, was executed by the State of Arkansas by lethal injection on April 24, 2017, in Grady, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and state corrections records. He was put to death hours after Jack Jones Jr. in what was the nation's first double execution since 2000. A federal judge issued a temporary stay while the court considered claims related to a previous execution, and Williams was returned to his cell until the stay was lifted about an hour later.
