Manuel Vasquez
Manuel Vasquez, a 46-year-old Hispanic man, was executed by lethal injection by the State of Texas at the Huntsville Unit in Huntsville on March 11, 2015, according to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. In a brief last statement he said he loved his family and friends and gave thanks for God's mercy, and his sister, who was watching, cried loudly. The Texas Tribune reported that he was declared dead 17 minutes after a dose of pentobarbital began flowing through an IV into his arm. His sister watched him take about two dozen breaths before he lost consciousness.
