Malek Moore
Malek Moore died on December 30, 2021, while held at Tabor Correctional Institution in North Carolina. The state Department of Public Safety said he was found unresponsive in his cell around 4:34 a.m., and prison first responders and paramedics tried to save him before he was pronounced dead at 4:56 a.m. The department said it is cooperating with a law enforcement investigation and conducting its own review. No cause of death has been announced.
