Executed
Major Morris
Major Morris was one of three men hanged on the morning of March 13, 1858, at New Kent Court House, Virginia, before a large crowd, according to The Daily Dispatch. A minister preached and prayed with the men before they were led from their cell to the gallows. Morris said he had come to that point through the persuasion and advice of his friends. He urged those around him never to place too much confidence in friends.
