Lynch

Lynch, a man, was held in the custody of a constable at Caldwell, Kansas, according to the Wichita City Eagle, which reported his death on April 29, 1872. A group of vigilantes from Caldwell took him from the constable and hanged him from a tree until he died. The constable's response to the group is part of the account.
