Luther Hillings
Luther Hillings, a 27-year-old Black man, was killed in Brunswick, Tennessee, in the early hours of October 10, 1905. He was in the custody of officers who were taking him to the jail when, according to the Rock Island Argus, a mob of about 100 people forcibly took him from them. The mob hanged him from a telegraph pole.
