Luis D. Laureano
Luis D. Laureano, 36, of Springfield, was found hanging in his cell at the Hampden County Correctional Center in Ludlow on Saturday night, August 29, 2015, and was pronounced dead at Baystate Medical Center early the next morning, August 30. The jail's spokesman, Richard McCarthy, said it was an apparent suicide with a bed sheet and that no one assisted him. His family did not believe he was suicidal, and his brother has asked for a thorough investigation, saying the account does not make much sense. The family said they were left with little information about his death and were hurting.
