Love Rudd
Love Rudd, a Black man, was being held in the custody of a constable near Clarksville, Missouri. About forty masked men waylaid the constable and took Rudd from him. His body, with a large rock tied to its feet, was later found in the Mississippi River near Clarksville, and the death was reported as drowning. An unconfirmed report said his hands were still bound with the constable's handcuffs.
