Logan Murphy
Logan Murphy, 17, was held at the Winchester jail in Kentucky when, on August 16, 1892, a mob took him from the jail and killed him. One newspaper account says the mob took him outside the city to a railroad trestle and hanged him. That account says that when asked whether he wanted to pray, he said he did not know how and asked the mob to pray for him. It reports that his neck broke in a fall of about eight feet, and that after a coroner's inquest his body was cut down and given to an undertaker.
