Lizzie French

Lizzie French was one of the young women held at the House of Refuge in New York, a juvenile institution. Her remains were among those found in a hidden cemetery on the grounds of what is now the Hudson Correctional Facility, and researchers confirmed the people buried there were residents of the House of Refuge for young women. Her name is carved on a stone that was honored at a memorial service in 2024.
