Lisa Baker, 40, died on February 26, 2025, after being held at the York County Detention Center in York, South Carolina. According to the York County sheriff's office, staff found her unresponsive on the morning of the 26th, and she died at a hospital hours later. Sheriff Tony Breeden asked the State Law Enforcement Division to investigate the death. The coroner's office had not yet determined a cause or manner of death.
