Linda Dennett
Linda Dennett, 77, was confined to a wheelchair and needed palliative care, according to her lawyer. She had been moved out of jail the previous month to a care facility in Columbus County, North Carolina, after a judge allowed her release there because of her health. She died there on October 19, 2025, while still in police custody, according to the account of her death. The cause of death had not been announced, and the Columbus County coroner had not yet responded to a request for it.
