Lina Odom
Lina Odom, 28, died in 2018 while held at the Duval County jail in Jacksonville, Florida. Her family's attorney, Jack Cook, says jail staff and Armor Correctional Health Services nurses ignored her severe alcohol and drug withdrawal symptoms and did not place her under the special observation her history called for. Her father, Danny, spent about 15 years trying to help her live with him, and her family fought hard for her sobriety. The family's lawsuit was settled in July 2023 with the city and Armor, and Armor did not admit fault; an autopsy reported cocaine in her system, and the family says Armor has not yet made payments under the settlement.
