Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton, 36, of Oklahoma City, was found dead on August 5, 2015, at the Davis Correctional Center in Holdenville, a prison run by the Corrections Corporation of America. Department of Corrections officials said another man held there, Silas Royal, stabbed Hamilton at about 4 p.m. that day. The department first said Hamilton had stabbed Royal, then said the opposite had happened. The accounts of how the stabbing occurred remain in conflict in the department's own statements.
Cause of death, as reported: Killed by another person in custody. Department of Corrections officials say another man held at the prison, Silas Royal, stabbed Hamilton; the department first said Hamilton had stabbed Royal before reversing that account.
