Died in jail or a lockup
Leslie Spurlock
Leslie Spurlock, 42, of Salt Rock, West Virginia, died on May 15, 2021, after being found unresponsive in his cell at Western Regional Jail in Barboursville. Jail staff called Cabell County EMS, and he was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 10:30 p.m. The West Virginia Department of Homeland Security's communications director said the cause and manner of death were pending. The West Virginia State Police and the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation are investigating, and no cause has been established.
