Leonard Nelson died in his cell in Shelby County, Tennessee, on the morning of Wednesday, June 1, 2016. Authorities first described his death as a suicide, but later determined it was a homicide. A man was charged in connection with the death, and WREG reported that the two men had argued before Nelson died.
