Lawrence Sumlin
Lawrence Sumlin, 61, died on the morning of November 22, 2024, in the intake area of the Shelby County Jail in Memphis, Tennessee. Shelby County Sheriff Floyd Bonner said staff believe it was a medical emergency, but that the cause of death is not yet known and must await the medical examiner. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is continuing its investigation, and the sheriff said he does not believe a second person was involved.
