Lawrence Colwell Jr.
Lawrence Colwell Jr., 35, was executed by lethal injection at the Nevada State Prison in Carson City on the evening of March 19, 2004, according to the Nevada Department of Prisons. His parents were at the prison that night but did not witness the execution, and he asked that his body be cremated. He declined sedatives, made no last statement and did not ask for a stay, and prison doctor Ted D'Amico pronounced him dead at 9:08 p.m. He left a letter for his public defense team, which prison officials said is confidential. The family of the victim said they felt justice had been done.
