Lauren Lindsey Darnell, 33, was found dead in her cell at the Hancock County jail in Mississippi early on a Saturday morning, July 25, 2020, four days after she was taken into custody. Sheriff Ricky Adam said there was no obvious sign of injury or suspicious circumstance and no indication she had coronavirus. An autopsy was scheduled to determine the cause and manner of death, and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation said it was conducting an independent investigation.
