Laura Gibbs, 41, died while held at the El Paso County jail in Colorado Springs. She had told staff she was in withdrawal. According to the sheriff's office, staff were monitoring her symptoms for two days before she was found unresponsive in her cell. Her death was reported through an autopsy and a sheriff's office news release.
