Larkin Nix
Larkin Nix was held in the jail at Meigs, in Thomas County, Georgia. On Saturday night, October 31, 1891, a mob took him from that jail and killed him, according to an Atlanta dispatch printed in the Crittenden Press. The killing was carried out by the crowd rather than by any official act.
Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. An Atlanta dispatch reports that a mob took Larkin Nix from the Meigs jail on a Saturday night and lynched him.
