Lanson Paul Stalf, 46, died on September 12, 2022, while held at Alexander Correctional Institution in Taylorsville, North Carolina. The North Carolina Department of Public Safety says he was found unresponsive in his cell that afternoon and that EMS pronounced him dead shortly after. The department says the death appears to be a suicide, and that law enforcement is investigating alongside its own review.
