Lamont Claxton (L.C.) Underwood
Lamont Claxton “L.C.” Underwood, 67, worked as a police officer with the Salisbury Police Department and later served as a school resource officer at Salisbury High School. According to the Watauga Democrat, he retired in late 1993 because of an injury. On December 23, 2018, he died at the hospital at Central Prison in Raleigh, North Carolina, while held in the state prison system. The N.C. Department of Public Safety said he died of natural causes.
