Kyle Wagner
Kyle Wagner died on August 9, 2022, while held at the Travis County Jail in Texas. His father said, "He was our son... he was my firstborn. And we truly miss him," and his mother, Regina Wagner, said she does not want his death "swept under the rug as another drug story." The Travis County Sheriff's Office said that after he told staff at booking that he used drugs, he was placed on withdrawal protocols in a medical unit, and that he was found unresponsive the next morning. A state death report lists the death as accidental, from the toxic effects of heroin, and his family says they could not afford treatment that might have helped him.
