Kyle V. White
Kyle V. White, 36, died on January 23, 2024, while held in a holding cell at the Kasigluk tribal jail in Kasigluk, Alaska. Alaska State Troopers said a fire started inside the cell, and they attributed it to a lighter that had got into the cell without a proper search and ignited a mattress. Troopers and a deputy fire marshal investigated the fire after the initial call.
Cause of death, as reported: Cause not yet determined. Alaska State Troopers say a lighter that entered the cell without a proper search started a fire in a mattress, and investigators have not reported a ruling on how he died.
