Kyle Blackburn Brown
Kyle Blackburn Brown, 38, died on August 17, 2024, while held at Granville Correctional Institution in Butner, North Carolina. Department of Adult Correction spokesman Brad Deen said Brown was found unresponsive in his cell, and that Granville County EMS pronounced him dead at 8:17 a.m. Deen said the cause and manner of death are undetermined. He said law enforcement and the NC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are investigating, which he described as standard for in-custody deaths.
