KTS Dre, a Chicago rapper also known as Kutthroat Dreko, was held at Cook County Jail before his fiancée posted his bail. He was shot as he walked out of the jail on Saturday, July 10, 2021, after his release. Authorities said he was struck by as many as 64 bullets and classified the death as a homicide.

Cause of death, as reported: Killed by another person in custody. Authorities said he was shot as many as 64 times in an ambush as he walked out of Cook County Jail after his bail was posted, so the shooter was not held there.
