Krysta Lesherri Chewe, 47, was held at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Rankin County, Mississippi. The Mississippi Department of Corrections said Chewe had been hospitalized earlier and died on October 11, 2020, at Merit Health Central in Jackson, and announced the death on October 12. The department said the cause and manner of death were pending autopsy results.
