Kristi Jean Ellis
Kristi Jean Ellis was 25 and from Mentor, according to the News-Herald. She died on December 22, 2015, while held at the Lake County Jail in Ohio. Correction officers believed she died in her sleep after she did not come out for breakfast, and the Lake County Coroner pronounced her dead at the jail, with the body sent to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. The News-Herald reported heroin overdose as the cause, and said another person held there overdosed the same day and was revived after officials gave a drug that reverses opioid overdoses, while a court later ordered one person involved to repay Ellis's family more than $12,600 for funeral expenses.
