Kirk Douglas Owens
Kirk Douglas Owens, 42, of Cedartown, died on July 6, 2026, after he was held at the Polk County Jail in Georgia. He was found unresponsive in his assigned cell that evening and was taken to Atrium Health Polk Medical Center, where he later died. The Polk County Sheriff's Office said he succumbed to an ailment, but the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has taken over the case and the cause of death has not been confirmed.
