Kingsley Fifi Bimpong

50 years old · died November 19, 2024 · Dakota County Law Enforcement Center, Dakota County, Minnesota

Kingsley Fifi Bimpong, 50, was a postal worker from Cottage Grove who had left work early with a headache. His family's federal lawsuit says that after Eagan police stopped him, he showed stroke symptoms while held at the Dakota County Jail, where officers and jail staff ignored them for hours and he lay on a cell floor before being found unresponsive. He was taken to Regina Hospital, declared brain dead, and died on November 19, 2024, after his family chose to remove him from life support. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner found he died of an intracerebral hemorrhage and that no drugs or alcohol were in his system. The City of Eagan says his condition did not appear to be an obviously serious medical emergency and that the officers acted properly, and the allegations are contested in court.
