Kimberly Golden, 44, died on May 15, 2026, while held at the Muscogee County Jail in Columbus, Georgia. The Muscogee County Sheriff's Office said she was found unresponsive in her cell, and Columbus Fire and EMS and the coroner responded. The cause and manner of her death remain under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, with a parallel review by the sheriff's office. Sheriff Greg Countryman said the office's thoughts and prayers are with her family.
