Kimberly Gilley
Kimberly Gilley, a 44-year-old mother from Mercer County, died in November 2022 after being held at Southern Regional Jail in West Virginia. Her attorney, Stephen P. New, says other women held in the jail attacked her, sexually assaulted her and beat her, and that she did not receive adequate medical care afterward. The West Virginia State Police are investigating the death, and her estate is preparing a civil lawsuit.
