Kimbella Kimble
Kimbella Kimble, a 21-year-old Black trans woman, died on August 6, 2022, at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center in Gulfport, Mississippi, about 24 hours after being placed in solitary confinement. A video posted to social media, cited by a Trans Day of Remembrance report, reportedly shows corrections officers tasing her while she said "I can't breathe." The report attributes the account of the video to what it shows, and the reported use of the Taser is the only described action by staff. Her family and friends' accounts of who she was are not included in these reports.
